22 Week Bumpdate with Baby #2

Time for another bumpdate!

This has been the easiest week so far in pregnancy-land! We learned a lot of good news last week at our anatomy scan, and this week my symptoms have been at an all time low, food has started tasting better (just in time for Easter) and Gideon and I have been getting out every day to go on long walks!

How far along: 22 weeks

Baby is as big as a: coconut!

Due date: August 23rd

Weight gain: I lost six pounds in my first trimester, and I have now regained those pounds. So I am back to my starting weight. Which was about what happened with Gideon’s pregnancy too.

Exercise: I started exercising this week! I cannot tell you how amazing it feels to stay active in pregnancy. With Gideon’s pregnancy, of course, I couldn’t even go on a walk–so being able to exercise until I sweat feels SO good, and I don’t take it for granted. I got away this past weekend to Starbucks to have a bit of me time, and I spent part of that time thinking about my upcoming week, and what goals I wanted to tackle. I tend to have a lot of goals, and when I have too many then none of them get done. I narrowed it down to two: 1. Exercise for thirty minutes every day 2. Have six “no-spend” days out of the week. I made little checkmarks in my Passion Planner, and I am happy to say that I have hit those goals every day this week!!

This was our first week back in Nebraska where it was truly very warm, and nice outside. I dusted off the Thule stroller, and took Gideon for a walk every day. I wasn’t sure how my big twenty-month-old active baby boy would react to the stroller since it has been so long (six months?) since he’s regularly gone on stroller walks, but he did great! He loves his stroller! He reaches for it every time I walk by it, and he doesn’t want to get out at the end of the walk. Score! We walked for miles and miles this week, and it felt so good.

We were also united with our secret park this week!

Gender: I’m still thinking girl. I HAVE to get rid of the envelope in our apartment that says the gender. I had the sonographer write down the gender, and she tucked in an ultrasound pick that “proved” what the baby is. Every once in awhile I think about that envelope, and it would be a lot easier if it was just out of my house. Anyone want to keep it for me until I deliver?

Purchases I’ve made/what I’m dejunking: I dejunked another couple of bags of clothes this week, huzzah! We will be moving in two months, and my goal is to get the entire apartment dejunked before then. I was getting overwhelmed by all the big things I was looking for on Facebook Marketplace, and so I finally made a list of things I want to buy (used, always used). We checked off the apartment this week, and we have an appointment to check out a minivan next week.

  1. Find a two-bedroom apartment (we did! Thank goodness! Competition is steep for apartments in our little college town. I am so relieved that we found something, and I am SO excited about our new place! We will move in the end of June)
  2. Find a minivan
  3. Carseat
  4. Rocking chair/glider
  5. Crib
  6. Baby swing
  7. Ring sling
  8. Changing pad
  9. A few baby girl clothes (just in case, we have plenty of baby boy clothes that is for sure)

How are you feeling? I had a really good week this week! My miserable pregnancy-induced migraine didn’t rear its ugly heads once, yay! My food aversions have, also, finally started going away. Thank goodness! Even last week, I found it tough to find food to eat, especially in the evening when everything sounded gross. Life is so much easier when most food sounds appealing.

Maternity clothes: I’m definitely wearing all maternity clothes these days, plus a few stretchy non-maternity t-shirt dresses.

Best moment this week: Going on long walks with Gideon, finding out we got our two-bedroom apartment so that I don’t have to worry about that anymore!

Cravings: My friend shared with me a quinoa salad recipe, and I’ve been eating that by the bowlful. And I’ve been eating lots of bean tacos, fresh fruit, and pasta.

Symptoms: occasional ligament pain

Looking forward to: Easter weekend!

And, for comparison, here is my 22 Week Bumpdate with Baby #1
